New designers bring youth and whimsy to Valentino Couture!!

Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri, formerly accessories designers for Valentino have done it! They have given this lux designer label a breath of fresh, airy, youthful, and flirty spirit!!!! Possibly it was the hitching up of the hemline, which in a couture show is a big risk. Nonetheless this show got me excited!!! Not your every night party dress, next time you have ann invite to the costume institute gala think Valentino!!!!

So, yesterday in Paris, Jean Paul Gaultier debuted the Couture 09 collection. While I understand the criticism that the collection is all over the place, every piece is amazers and the ones below are "make me want to vomit amazing!!!!" Some genius' just need not focus!

Hipster Academy

So I just got back from the shortstop (bar) in echo park. For the non LA locals this is the LA equivalent to union pool in williamsburg brooklyn. For the non New Yorkers I fail to have a reference point! Anywho after a night of hot, sweaty, affected, la summer fashion, I thought of a video I styled a couple years ago. So like I've mentioned, I have been all about Venice recently. While down there yesterday I popped into the most amazing gem of a vintage store VENICE VINTAGE PARADISE (310-452-0733). Located at 1144 Abbot Kinney, in the heart of Venice CA, this store is a small shop but don't let the size fool you. While they have fewer items, this vintage heaven has the right (thoughtfully bought) pieces in pristine condition. If that isn't enough, the lovely store owner Jeanie Reynolds is nothing but sweet complementary energy (hard to find with most vintage sellers).

So what did I buy???

As I mentioned a couple posts ago I have been obsessed with all things soft beachy and desaturated. So in that mood I raped VENICE VINTAGE PARADISE of all of their vintage lingerie to wear as boho rock clothing of course!!!
